Kenna came out of the bathroom and sat next to Bash. She had just taken a test that could change their lives forever: a pregnancy test. Bash and Kenna had gotten married three years ago and decided to wait for kids until they were ready. Six months ago the decided they were ready and abandoned all birth control. They figured getting pregnant would be easy enough; they enjoyed sex and had sex at least once a day. How hard could it be? Apparently pretty hard. Six months of waiting, getting their hopes lifted, getting their hearts broken, and looking at negative tests were becoming very heard for the couple, especially since their friends and families had no problem getting pregnant.

Mary and Francis had just had their second baby, James, and Greer and Leith were about to have their first. Kenna's sister and Lola were due in about six months. Kenna tried to put on a smile, but Bash knew it was killing her deep down. He hated to see his wife so sad.

"How long do we have to wait?" he asked her.

"You know the drill, Bash," she snapped. "Five minutes."

"Right. I'm sorry."

Kenna sighed. "I'm sorry I snapped at you."

"It's fine, love."

"No, it's not. You were just trying to help."

Bash wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. "I know you get stressed out every time."

Kenna buried her head in his neck and whispered, "I just really want a baby, Bash."

"I know, love," he said softly as he stroked her hair. "I do too."

"I want to be fully happy when someone tells me they're pregnant. I feel like a bad person."

"You aren't. It's a perfectly natural reaction."

Just then, Kenna's phone timer went off, indicating that it was time to look at the test. Kenna took a deep breath and got up. Bash grabbed her hand.

"Do you want me to go with you?" he asked.

"Please."

The couple walked into the bathroom, and Kenna buried her head in her husband's chest.

"You look," she said. "I can't. I'm too nervous."

"Okay," he said as he picked up the test. He was nervous as hell too.

He grinned when he saw the words "pregnant: 1-2 weeks" on the screen of the test.

"Well?" Kenna asked.

"See for yourself," he replied as he handed her the test, smiling.

She looked at it and screamed happily. "We're going to have a baby Bash!"

"I know!"

She threw her arms around his neck. "We're going to be parents!"
