Writer's note:
This was inspired by my first season of marching band. The bonds and the team work that I experienced for the first time with my band is the most awesome feeling I have ever had. So inspiring, in fact that it's driven me to poetry! (read and review!!! PLEASE REVIEW!!!)
My new Family
This year I got a new family.
I was scared about metting them at first
I thought "What if they don't accept me?
oh, wouldn't that just be the worst?"
This year I got a new family.
They let me right into their home
i was shy and unsure but they took me in
and I saw that I wasn't alone.
This year I got a new family.
They tought me alot of new things
About music and team work and how good winning feels...
and how much loosing it stings.
This year I got a new family.
And oh, how my family is fun!
With bonds built on rainy days and football
and hours outside in the sun.
This year I got a new family.
I'm begining to love them a bunch
We share everything like all families do-
our tears, giggles, cold germs and lunch!
This year I got a new family.
And It's like summer never ends
because my new family's more than just family...
They're also my new best friends.
