The knife glinted in the low light, shimmering so nicely against the black of his skin.

"Do you want to know how I got these scars? You see, my father was a drunk…"

Do you want to know how I got these scars? Hehehiiii! Do yah!? My wife, she gambled…too deep you see, and they gave her these scars…depression, see. She never…ssssmiled—I gave myself a set of scars so I was always…sssmilling-ehh.
