Healing the Wound

A Kyuubi and Kokoro Oneshot

By -Kokoro Kitsune-

Naruto is property of Masashi Kishimoto, not me.

I do own Kokoro, however. 

The wind whistled through the trees, making golden and orange leaves spiral down under the dim street lights, as if in a dance formation. Kokoro Kitsune was walking along a Konoha street, abandoned you might say. Nay, for it was only quiet. It's usually quiet at 12:00 AM anyway. The girl didn't mind though, even though she could barely see the dance of autumn.

She was out there to find solace. One of her close friends, Naruto Uzumaki, had died only a week before. The girl was dressed in black. It seemed everything was slower, not as important somehow. Her heart always skipped a beat when she saw orange, which was why her head was down, as to not let her subconscious mistake the leaves for her playful friend.

She checked her watch. It was past curfew for her. She didn't care though, because she had other problems. Oh, there was the death. But, in Naruto's death, the demon had been released. And it had been sealed into her.

Oh, it was nothing like Naruto's sealing. She didn't have any marks on her. The "ceremony", as you might call it, had been simple. A retired shinobi had done the sealing, as his life was constantly pain. It was, in some way, a blessing to him, to have to pain go. Kyuubi had been trapped previously, and she volunteered to have it sealed into her. Not for power, oh no. It was a light of some morbid memory of Naruto, this demon. Something for her to grasp a hold of, so she couldn't, wouldn't forget him.

Now the demon spoke inside her. "You should be asleep, child."

Motherly figure? Not quite. Plus, the Kyuubi was more male anyway. But the Kyuubi's emotions had been… softened up after Naruto.

"Yes, Kyuubi-san." She responded with an inner sigh. She began her weary walk home.

--

Yes, the wound would heal. But in a way, Kyuubi would just slow the healing, with more memories. But she didn't care. Her friend still lived on in the Kyuubi, even if not in reality.
