Chapter 1: Monarchy Trouble!
Deep in the Kingdom of the white moon, inside Crystal Tokyo in the Silver Moon Palace, a meeting was being held that would decide the fate of the Princess of Saturn. The forlorn young Princess of Saturn, clothed in a purple gown, was defending herself in a debate against the Queen of the Silver Moon and her retainers.
"You cannot do this! We have ruled long under my rule as a Princess! Why can we not continue to do the same? If you marry me off to some random person I have never met, then my kingdom might suffer because of it."
The Silver Moon Queen, her body clothed in a white scarlet gown, folded her arms and gave her educated reply. "You're a fine ruler, and I didn't mind allowing you to rule your own kingdom. But that was before you became of age. You will need to produce a official heir to your throne or else your kingdom cannot continue to exist. Since you have chosen no one else, then I am afraid I will have to intervene and find a husband for you."
Princess Hotaru crossed her arms. "I told you that I would marry the person I felt fit enough for my love and dedication. You can't just try to force love on me, because the love will not form. I'm looking for a strong man who will put a honest days work and rule his kingdom militarily while I work domestically, and one who will be a fine father to his children and…."
Queen Serenity rose to a stand, looking into her eyes. "I never said that this was easy for me. I've waited far beyond the usual time for you to choose a husband."
Princess Hotaru met her eyes. "I have plenty of years left to produce a heir, this isn't fair! Why can't you allow me to fall in love?"
"Because you are not attracted to men….are you?" She asked
A long silence dwelt afterwards that lasted for several minutes. Princess Hotaru looked down towards the ground with a horrified look on her face. How did the Silver Queen know? How had she guessed her secret? She couldn't help it if she found nothing attractive about a man. All they would do is sit there and boast about their kingdoms, their successes in life, and their victories in war.
They never talked about their feelings, and hardly any of them had any manners on how to treat a girl. They just sat there and whined about how awesome they were like they were introducing themselves at some kind of dating service, and it disgusted her to see other girls throw themselves into the arms of men like that.
The truth was….she hated men.
The soft whisper of the Silver Queen broke though her thoughts, and Princess Hotaru could feel the soft hands of her queen upon her shoulders.
"It's true….isn't it?"
"Yes."
What else could she say? She was busted, like a pouting dog that had just soiled the carpet.
"Then I rest my case." Queen Serenity finally concluded, turning away from her and returning to her throne. "You shall meet your future husband on the Planet of Saturn in about a month. I'll send a message to him right away."
As Princess Hotaru turned to leave, Queen Serenity once more laid her hand on her shoulder.
"Hotaru, please try to get along with him. If this doesn't work out, I'm afraid I'm going to have to expel Saturn from the Moon Kingdom. You've already have caused enough trouble with the relationship with my daughter."
Tears began to well up in the eyes of the princess, and she looked down to the ground and began to cry as she walked back towards her bodyguards whom would escort her back to her planet. Her dreams in life had been snuffed out, her desire for happiness demolished, and within a week she would be doomed to live a life without love.
It was hard to not find pity for that girl….
