On October 29, 1980, Fred Weasley was merely three years old and was quite content in his daily toddling. But, on that day, a glowing orb was placed amongst millions in the hall of prophecies, with a tag on it displaying his name in large, scripted letters. And, of course, there was another nameāthe name of a baby that would be born exactly six minutes and 42 seconds after its placement. But, Fred knew nothing of that, and continued on in his own little world, fascinated once again by the other boy who looked just like him but was not him.
No, as Sydney Riddle was born, Fred Weasley was none the wiser about any babies or prophecies. He was more concerned with the mashed peas his mother was force feeding him to worry about some prophecy that had been made prior to his own birth finally being categorized in the Department of Mysteries.
In fact, the only person who was concerned about the whereabouts of the prophecy documentation process was the prophesier herself, and she was brutally murdered later that night.
In the events of the next few days, the wizarding world would see every page of the Daily Prophet proclaiming the deaths of James and Lily Potter, and of the annihilation of the Dark Lord as he spell rebound off a small boy. This would become the only prophecy that really mattered to anyone.
However, the three people in the world that had knowledge of the prophecy regarding Sydney Riddle and Fred Weasley quickly dwindled to one that night. Categorized or not, the prophecy would remain a mystery to anyone else for a very, very long time.
