A child was crying. That's not right. Urbosa thought. Normally the desert was silent at night save a few nocturnal species. Turning towards the sound, a dune blocked her view. The sharp sound of metal clashing on metal reached her ears. Urbosa started climbing the dune. Evil cackling reached her ears and with a jolt she recognized it as a Yiga voice. "There there, sweet child. It'll only hurt a moment." It said with malice. The wailing grew louder and more desperate. Urbosa just reached the top and knelt down to take in the sight before her. Two Rito birds lay bloodied and still, their throats slit. One was a dark brown, the other a light forest green. A Gerudo was being held at the throat by a Yiga footman, if his small and thin appearance was any clue. Other than that, the desert was rather flat and empty forward save a few cacti. Urbosa could not find the source of the wails. Then she saw a burly Yiga drag a small Rito into view. Tears glistened off it's downy feathers. She realized that it was hardly a few days old, unable to talk. It's feathers were a mixture of brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows, reminding her of flames. "There's nothing to fear. You'll be with your blasted mother soon. And your father should join you in a few weeks." He snarled. Grabbing his blade, he raised it high. Urbosa by that time was already moving. She pulled out her sword and quickly dispatched the footman. The Gerudo nodded her thanks, massaging her throat as well. Together, they rushed the blademaster. Before he could swipe at the child, whose cries reached an all time high pitch, two Gerudo scimitars disappeared into his chest. He choked and sank to his knees. Pulling their blades out, Urbosa and the other Gerudo turned to the child. The dying man gasped, "Urbosa..." She turned, disgust on her face. "You traitor to your kind." She spat. "I have no time for murderers of children." "You...will live to regret saving her. That will be your downfall and undoing." He choked out, pointing a finger at her. "Mark my words. You will find out a dark secret and..." Shing! The other Gerudo's scimitar knocked his head off. "Piece of filth." She spat. The Rito had stopped wailing and was looking at them with trepidation and fear. Urbosa knelt down. "I won't hurt you." She said, spreading her arms wide. The child tilted it's head and closed its mouth, confused. Slowly, it wobbled toward her, finally collapsing in her arms. Wrapping her arms around it, Urbosa asked, "What's your name, little one?" It sniffled and looked up at her. She got the queerest feeling that she was talking to Revali for a moment. It shivered, then fainted. "Help me carry her." Urbosa said, turning to the Gerudo. "I must speak with you, lady." "Yes?" She replied, curious why it was so urgent that the Gerudo was looking worried. "That child isn't safe." "Why?" Looking around before answering, she leaned in close. "Here. This will explain." She said, dropping a tightly furled scroll into Urbosa's hand. "Show it to no one other than the princess. I will clean up here." And with that, she backed away and began digging in the sand. Urbosa was confused and frustrated. What kind of an explanation was that? Frowning, she looked at the scroll and her confusion increased. Revali's Divine Beast symbol was drawn on it. With a jolt, she realized the child wore a black stone pendant with the same symbol on it. This cannot be good. Urbosa thought, turning toward the distant town.
