MONSTER
"I'm a monster."
Katara looked at him with wide eyes. "No, you aren't! You'll never be—not to me, at least. Remember—I love you."
"But I killed Ozai."
Katara said fiercely, "He's killed many more! You returned the world to balance. I know that . . . he said he would do it."
"I felt so relieved . . . knowing the pressure was off me. But then he couldn't do it."
Katara reassured him, "But he's paid the price now."
"For being weak."
"Yes," she said. "But you know how hard it would have been, with his history." Katara wrapped an arm around his shoulder.
"He had no history, compared to what I have. He knew nothing of what it took to kill him."
"I know, darling," Katara said and stroked his hair. "But Ozai deserved to go down. After all . . ."
". . . he was a monster."
