Growing up Finn had asked her mother why her mother loved her father she always replied with the same answer every time because he is the light through darkness.
As a child she never understood how a person could be light through darkness it wasn't and until her first murder case as csi she understood it when tears fell down her face because of the injustice and her boss and friend wiped away her tears.
He became her light in darkness and thats why she loved .
