Puppet Life

Pull at the strings of my puppet life,

Wooden smile, no hint of strife,

Glassy eyes, unbeating heart,

Metal joints in a living art.

Paste on a stare that never sees true

Try to pretend that I don't love you.

Mechanical steps, frozen desire,

You can't sculpt the scars of a liar.

Make eyes blinks, lips form sound,

Numb legs move over forgotten ground.

I'm hiding myself from the love I can't face

Locking away all the shame and disgrace.

Forcing me on, threw away the key,

Losing myself within the puppet me.
