Falling in love
Sakuma's P.O.V.
"She loves me, she loves me not, she loves me, she loves me not" Genda muttered to himself and absent mindedly plucked out the petals of a rose one by one.
It was a chilly Saturday night.
Me, Genda and Kidou were sitting on the roof of kidou's house, watching the stars.
We do that every Saturday night.
And we've never missed a Saturday in like….ever.
And that's a long time.
"She doesn't love you, sport,"Kidou said to Genda, "get over it already".
"She will" genda replied "one day".
"And what makes you so certain?" I asked curiously.
I've never been in love. So, I really don't get it when Genda talks about "his girl".
Which, he has been doing for the past half an hour.
"because that's just the way it works" Genda replied "you just wait and see".
okay, i'll wait then.
"Oh, hey look, there's the evening star" I said pointing up at the star which glowed brighter than any other.
"It's just a ball of gas" Genda said.
"Well, they say if you make a wish on the evening star it comes true" I said.
"You actually believe all that crap?" Kidou asked me shaking his head.
"Not really" I said with a shrug.
"But it won't hurt to try, will it?" Genda said.
He closed his eyes, folded his hands and said "I want her to want me so much, she can't stand it. Please. Please. Please".
He opened his eyes and looked at us.
"Did I overdo it or something?" he asked.
Me and Kidou nodded in unison and then all three of us burst out laughing.
"You're starting to get desperate I'll say" Kidou said, "love sucks".
"Why? What's wrong with it?" Genda asked.
"It makes you weak" Kidou replied, matter of factly.
"Nope" Genda said shaking his head "love makes you strong. Gives hope. Makes you want to believe. Have faith".
"Wow, heavy words." I said.
"You'll find out when you fall in love" Genda said to the two of us.
"I never want to fall in love" Kidou said with a shrug.
I looked up at the evening star and smiled to myself.
"I can't wait to fall in love".
