It is the 4th Thursday of November,
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes
Fill my nose with wonderful smells.
Everyone sits at the enormous table,
We join hands,
My dad says
"We are gathered here today,
to give thanks for what we have,
to thank the Lord that we are here together
and with the one who have gone before us,
for our children,
and for the food that we are about to eat".
"Amen!"

This tradition,
These words,
Will follow me forever,
Guiding me through brick walls,
And through water,
Over hills,
And under latters.
And someday I'll be standing
Saying those words
On this day of thanks.
