Explosive

Two pairs of cobalt peeked through metal mesh. Two five year olds stared at a rather impressive military base.
"We gots ta blow up dat base?" the girl asked.
"Uh huh." The boy with her reported.
"Le's get started den." The girl pulled herself up over the fence.

With all the explosives set, it all boiled down to who got to push the button.
Phobos pushed Heero to the side. "I push da button!!"
"No! Me! Me, me, me!" Heero screamed over her screaming, pushing her back.
"ME!!!!" Phobos screamed back. "I push the button! You no push the button! Me push the button!!!"
Without seeing it happen, something set off the explosives on the base, leaving two very surprised five year olds.
An old man, who was very tired and VERY annoyed by the loud blast, stormed over to the two. "Who blew up that base?!" he yelled.
Phobos pointed a finger at Heero. "He did!" she squeaked.
"Nuh uh!" Heero piped. "She did!"
"I don't care who did! Just get to bed!" the man pushed them toward their bedroom, while the two five year olds voices could be heard floating back.
"You pushed the button!"
"No, you did!"

Behind the three, violet eyes blinked. "It actually worked?" a child's voice squeaked. "Whoa... Didn't think it would..."
A girl next to the wide violet eyed boy blinked herself. "Wha'd you do?"
"Blew up a base, obviously..." the boy replied.
"Were you supposed ta?"
"No... Hey, do you know those kids?"
"No. Can we go home?"
"Sure. I'm hungry anyway..."
