Watching the Centre
Authors note: I decided to write a wee fanfic about a woman in a coffee shop looking at Brennan and Booth and what is going through her head. This is set before they were together. It's a one-shot! Enjoy Readers!
Disclaimer: I don't own Bones, yea I know, it's depressing right?
Here I was, sitting in a diner, envious of 2 people I hadn't met before. Not even acknowledged before. The woman was gorgeous; she had brown hair that was wavy in all the right places and flawless skin with bright blue eyes that men kill for. Then the man had brown hair with soft looking skin and only the slightest bit of a stubble. His eyes were a dark chocolate which would make a woman melt into them.
You might think I'm being harsh when I say I'm envious it's just, I split with my husband not to long ago and after being married for 15 years, we never had the connection they too had. That's why I was jealous. They were perfect for each other, brown against blue, it was beautiful. I could faintly here them talking over the hustling about and it sounded like they were having a debate about a gut and how that couldn't possibly help with your instincts and how you feel. They were smiling so it couldn't be too bad.
I found it quite amusing as well. How they could go from joking around to debating to a serious discussion in 10 minutes. At first they were discussing a Daisy Wick and how the man wanted to get rid of her and then they were debating about the gut situation and now the man had leaned towards the woman. I thought they were going to kiss but they both leaned away before they got any closer. I was extremely disappointed. I had just seen these two for the first time today and I was routing for them to get together. You could practically feel there sexual tension form across the diner.
A waitress came over to take there order but they were so submerged into the conversation they were having that it was like they forgot about the world around them and the people in it. After a few goes the waitress just walked away knowing she had no luck in getting there attention. She walked over to me and smiled.
"Can you believe them two, they are in their own little world!" she said laughing.
I returned the laugh "I know, they've been sat like that for about 10 minutes now!" I said.
"It makes you wish you had someone like that doesn't it?" she said with a sigh and a longing look towards them.
"It really does. They are so unaware of how perfect they are for each other" I said with a sigh as well.
"If only they did. They have a theoretical force field around them. Nothing can come between them and they wouldn't want to leave it. It's the best kind of relationship" she said.
"I agree completely! Have you saw them before?" I asked curious.
"Oh yes, they've been coming here for quite a while. I've seen them at their worst and their best but after every argument, doesn't matter if it was big or small, they'd be right back together, in that booth, laughing again. They amaze me!" she said like she was in a dream.
I was astonished "It amazes me too, that is what you call dedication between two people" I said.
"I agree with you on that one, dear" she said, then smiled and walked away.
I looked back over to where they sat and they were laughing and smiling again. I smiled too knowing no matter how long it would take them; they'd be a couple one day. An unbreakable couple that people like me would be envious of.
I packed my bag and poured my coffee into a to-go-cup. They looked up as I was leaving and they both smiled in my direction. I smiled back and walked away. I walked away from the most perfectly fitted couple in D.C.
