Yoshi: Another beautiful song one should interpret in their own way. I see it as someone similar to Sleeping Beauty. The narrator doesn't even have to be female, just as the prince doesn't have to be male. Anyone can become Sleeping Beauty and the prince can be any savior.
Sleeping Beauty
What does the sky look like?
I haven't seen it in a long, long time.
Is it still that bright blue color?
I would be happy if it was.
Why can't I open my eyes to see it?
No matter how much I pray or cry, I cannot open my own eyes.
Why does it feel like time has stopped?
I feel as though I cannot control my body anymore.
Will I always be here, sleeping?
I feel like I've been sleeping for a long time.
Will I ever awaken to that bright blue sky again?
I'm only Sleeping Beauty, waiting for her prince to appear.
I may not ever awaken ever again, and so I'm forced to drift across this dark and lonely world.
