Chapter 1 Justin

A relaxing day in central park. The fountain gurgling, the birds chirping, it was all music to my ears.

Then out of the clear blue sky, a faint, glittering rainbow appeared. Probably sign of Iris, I thought.

Despite the light snow shower, the sun was shining as if it were summer.

Running in the distance I could see Marcus Lee and Zoey-Carmen Rhut. At that moment, I became slightly scared.

I stood up as they approached "What happened now?" I demanded.

"Oh, I'm fine, thanks for asking." Zoey said slyly.

"You won't believe what just happened," Marcus started. "Everyone's powers are going haywire! All the toilets— "

"Gross, too much info!" Zoey waved her hands for him to stop.

"Anyway, is it only the people in the camp that are affected?" I asked.

"That's the point, we're not sure. That's why Chiron sent us to find all known modern demigods so we can start an investigation."

"I think some of Annabeth is rubbing off you." Marcus noted.

"So, what next?" I disregarded Marcus' comment.

"We find the rest of the modern demigods, but there will be some kind of monsters so— "

Zoey cut in: "JUSTIN! You can use your powers they are probably functioning right, if you just— "

Marcus Looked offended for Zoey cutting him off.

"Zoey, I am not using my powers. A-and that's final." My vivid memory of what happened that night overran my whole body and began to make me shake. Badly. "I'm not risking any more lives, again." I shuddered at the thought.

"I'm not going to risk anymore lives – again." I answered, trembling.

"Justin, it'll be okay," Zoey assured me. When was the last time she was so sincere?

"What you guys talking about?!" Marcus said clearly confused.

Zoey shot him a look.

"I'll think about it." I said, even though, internally I'd already made my decision not to.

"Anyway," Marcus cut into the awkwardness. "We still need a plan… and I know just the person to go to."

Marcus grinned.

"Why do I always feel like something's going to happen when you smile like that?" I said, jokingly.

"It shouldn't be someone who you fear." Marcus said.

"That doesn't change a thing."

A/N Sorry it's so short there is so much more! I'm... just too lazy to type it. But I'm homeschooled, so I should have more type to type everything. But you know me... my lazy ol' self. Well, stay tuned. Byeeeee. -osauwa
