Raise Thy Sword
He trudged along the overgrown path, tall boots protecting him from the
bramble and nettles that lie there. How long had it been since he came to this world,
seeking the sword that wrought great evil even in fair Hyrule?
He had been what must have been thousands of miles on this strange world,
and had been confronted by many who sought this 'Soul Edge' blade. Strange peoples
they were too, with their short ears and unending wars...
As he approaches what appears to be the shattered remains of a temple of
some kind, Link thinks back over the year or so he's been here. He had many narrow
escapes and even more duels. The Dark Knight, with his great sword, had been a great
foe indeed, more powerful than even an Iron Knuckle. He only escaped after firing an
arrow into the eye of the living blade.
It was strange that the knight collapsed after the blow, and Link tries not to
dwell on it. His thoughts shift to other matters, such as the Axe wielding demon he
encountered while exploring a temple. A huge beast, but slow, Link suffered greatly
until a single well-placed bomb hurled the creature off balance enough for him to
attack it's heart.
Somehow, he knew that the true evil was here, in this shattered temple. A map
taken from the knight had led him to this place and indeed, Link felt much evil
emanating from the walls. He resolved to climb the sheer face, and enter on the
second floor...
The man with the batons, he was a strange one; full of rage and anger, yet he
also seemed to carry with him a great sadness. Was he right to have prevented that
man from completing his mission?
Yes, for he must save Hyrule, it is his destiny...
As he enters on the second floor, he sees a man already there, evidently in deep
meditation. His red garb and blonde hair remind Link of someone, but he cannot place
anything. As he gets closer, the man turns and says something. Uncertain in the
tongues of this world, Link tries to find out more about the man from his actions... His
clothes seem fairly fine and his hair neat. Given the tone, evidently he is one of noble
bearing.... but his eyes... there is a fire there, that of one willing to do anything for a
cause...
Again he speaks, this time in the tongue of the Dark Knight. Now, this is
definitely a challenge, as the man draws his sword.
Link is facinated by the blue, slender blade, so much so, he almost forgets to
draw his own blade. Master Sword and Queen's Guard face each other, on these once
hallowed grounds, and the wielder of each tries to analyse their foe, while trying to to
reveal their own weaknesses...
The man fights with style, evidently a well-taught one as well, as it seems
more efficient than his own self-taught style. No matter, Link thinks to himself, he
spends too much time in the wind up to attacks, with his flashy style.
The battle continues, and both are evidently exhausted. As the rapier comes in
for a quick strike, Link sees a way to win. The thin blade skitters off of the Hylian
shield and Link follows up by slamming his trusty shield into the man's face. He
collapses onto the ground, evidently unconcious.
As the man slumps, Link feels something strange in the air. Behind him, the
void between worlds opened, and he stepped through. He would destroy the evil in it's
lair... then... well. There's all the time in the world...
