Matthew walked along the streets slowly, looking up at the starry night sky. He had just gotten back from his brother's annual Christmas party. Once all of the other guests began leaving, he slipped out unnoticed, as usual and decided that if he was going to be ignored, he'd rather be ignored in his own home. The night air was cold and he continued to move along the snow coated pavement, avoiding the random ice patches so he wouldn't slip.

He sighed and looked around at all of the brightly lit houses on his street. At least the lights were pretty at this time of year. With a gentle smile he stopped in a local park near his house, taking a seat on a cold bench to rest his legs for a moment. He admired the many decorations in the park, chuckling at the small garden gnomes someone dressed up like elves. This was his favorite park.

Without warning, someone nearly sat on him and he pushed them away. "Hey, I'm not a bench, eh!" The man he had pushed away looked slightly familiar with his white hair and wide red eyes. "Oh, uh, sorry about that man, I didn't see you there.", the man said with an interesting laugh, "Hey, you look like that ALfred guy, I was just at his party and it was awesome! Were you there? I think I saw you."

Matthew just stared at him. This guy remembered him? Well, that was a first. The only other person who seemed to ever notice him was his brother, and even that was fleeting. "Uh, I'm Matthew, his brother.", he said quietly, staring at the stranger. This was almost like an early Christmas present, to have someone to talk to like this.

The albino sat down next to him and smiled (more like a smirk). "Ja, I remember him mentioning a twin once, nice ta meet ya Birdie.", he said casually, leaning back against the bench some, "My name is Gilbert, I'm Ludwig's older brother."

Looking at the man for a moment, Matthew smiled and held out his hand, "Nice to meet you." He really did enjoy meeting new people whenever he could. It was pretty lonely with just his brother noticing him. "Why are you out here? It's pretty cold.", he asked in a near whisper, averting his gaze from the other's eyes to look back at all of the lights.

Gilbert grinned and stretched out some, letting his arm fall behind Matthew slightly, "I dunno, enjoying the lights and tying to pick up a date for Christmas. I think my date is a little shy though. My awesome must be that intimidating." The red eyed Prussian looked out at the park and waited for an answer.

Eyes widening some, Matthew stuttered and blushed, "I-I well...you are pretty awesome but...why would you want to ask me out?" He swung that way, sure, but he had never actually been asked out by someone, and he had never seen it done in such a casual yet unorthodox way. This man really was something else.

Gilbert was quite enoying the show of colors on the Canadian's face. The boy's brother was right, it was adorable! He wrapped an arm around Matthew's shoulders and smiled, touching his cheeks with his other hand. "Your cheeks are flushed, Birdie.", he said calmly, "I think you should come to my place and get out of the cold." With that he stood and offered a hand.

Matthew stared up at him before shyly reaching out and taking Gilbert's hand in his own, blushing darker than before. "W-well thanks...", he whispered and followed the man out of the park. This was an unexpected turn to his night, but at least he wasn't alone. Christmas really was a time of love and miracles.

Pretty random little drabble I just thought up. It's not even Christmas.

Hope you enjoyed it!
