For the Love of the Night

It was near midnight at the Masaci Household, and only one soul was awake at this ungodly hour.
That soul was Ryoko. She tossed and turned in her bed, not being able to find a confortable spot.
"Damn." She mumbled under her breath. She phased silently into Tenchi Masaci's room. She looked
at his sleeping face; one thought crossed her mind:
"Angel" She ran her fingers softly over his cheek, the same way she did when he was a young boy,
when he came to her cave. A tear fell from her eye. She also recalled a song she sang once, before she met Tenchi.
"I was singing it when he walked by." She whispered softly. She readied her voice for singing.
"I don't know
What words I can say,
The wind has a way
To talk to me.
Flowers sleep
A silent lullaby,
I pray for reply
I'm ready.
Quiet, day calms me
Oh serenity
Someone
Please, tell me
Ohmm, what is they say?
Maybe I will know one day."
Ryoko finished, tears falling down her face. She fell to her knees silently, not to wake Tenchi.
"Then, Tenchi, you did not push me away, I was always there for you, and I still am. Please, Tenchi why,
I have loved you from the time I saw you, because, you were the only one who could see past what I was forced to do,
that I was a monster, a...a demon,you were the only one who could see me! Now, you're becoming just like the others, only
seeing me as a monster. I don't even know were I belong anymore. I hope that some day, you can see me like you did all
those years before. I don't care if you love me as...your mother, just please, love me!" Ryoko poured her heart and soul,
to the boy that had won her heart, and the man who has ignored it. Tenchi, unbeknownst to Ryoko, had awoken during the
song she had sung. Tenchi also had tears pouring down his face. He slowly sat up in bed. Ryoko had half teleported away,
but Tenchi stopped her.
"Don't go!" He asked gravely. She obliged and stayed.
"I'm s...sorry I woke you up T...Tenchi." Ryoko said, inverting her eyes away from Tenchi's. Tenchi grabbed her chin
and pulled her gaze up to his.
"The reason I haven't told you that I love you, is because, I did think of you as a mother. I just realized, that
I don't need a mother, I need someone to love." Tenchi explained.
"Say it, please." Ryoko whispered, tears flowing freely. His lips hovered near hers.
"I love you." He whispered, his lips landed on hers. Tears were flowing from them both freely now. They broke the
kiss and Ryoko echoed him.
"I love you." They both lied down in his bed, no seduction, nothing of that sort. The two held each other,
and slept peacefully, and joyfully.
