Jack and Gwen walked trough the tunnel talking.

"But he's a liar why is he in the building?" asked Gwen.

"There's the tiniest one percent chance he's breaking a habit of a life time and telling the truth which means this cities in danger." replied Jack.

they syopped walking.

"What did he mean by a time agent... you've never mentioned it."

"That was in the past."

Gwen nodds her head."Oh o.k. Here we go again. You know everything about me Jack why do you keep shutting me out?"

Jack puts his hands on his hips."Here and now that's what's important. The work we do, the person i am now that's what i'm proud of."

Jack knew she wouldn't leave it and he was right.

"Then why did you desert us?"

Jack looked at her, she looked hurt.

"Where did you go? No no come on tell me. Talk to me."

Jack didn't want to tell her, although he trusted her with everything.

He sighs a little."I have died so many times and dragged back into life... like being pulled over broken glass... i saw the end of the world."

He was begging her to belive him.

"How?"

"Doesen't matter now. But after it was all over... i knew i belonged here... what kept me fighting was the thought of coming home to you."

Jack carresed Gwen's arm with his hand. He went all the way down to her hand and felt something cold. Oh no!

He held her hand up so she could see.

"What's this?" he asked even though he already knew the answer.

"That's... that's an engagement ring." said Gwen in mock surprise.

"Your getting married?" I was too late!

"Yes Rhys asked why you were away."

She removed her hand leaving Jack cold and full with heartbreak and jealousy.

He crossed his arms."Wow Gwen Cooper getting married... down on one knee?"

"Well he tried to but he had a twinge in his back and had to lie on the seatee, that's when he popped the question."

"And you said yes?" Of course she said yes!

"Well no one else would have me."

Gwen looked at him daring him to say something.

Jack stared intto Gwen's gorgeous green eyes, he couldn't let her marry a man who couldn't even propose properly.

"I would." he said waiting for her reaction.

Gwen stood surprised, was Jack really fighting for her?

"We should get back to work." sighed Jack walking off.

Gwen couldn't move, maybe she'll have to think twice about the wedding?
