Not only us anymore

I opened the door very slowly. I looked inside the room and I saw them: the two men of my life. My husband was sitting on the carpet by the sofa, looking tenderly at our son, James, who was really concentrated on playing with his new puppet.

As I walked in, my husband stopped staring at him and raised his head. His profound green eyes found mine, and we smiled at each other. I sat besides them, trying to think of the better words I could use to say what I had to. Harry noticed my hesitation, and through his wonderful eyes he asked me a mute question.

I decided not to use any word either, and I just took his right hand, the closest to me, and put it on my stomach, my eyes on his. At first he was confused, but as soon as he understood what was happening, I saw his face changing into a huge smile, and he flew at me, hugging me tightly.

I love the sensation of feeling safe in his arms…
