Hello! Here's something small. But is it a drabbie? Not sure... :P Haven't really caught onto all this term stuff yet. x)
Warning: No warning. Maybe a look into things that is a bit weird? But I think it kinda suits Doumeki-kun...
Disclaimer: Not mine~! Sadly. xxxHolic and it's characters belong to Clamp.
Madness
By definition: A spectrum of behaviours characterized by certain abnormal mental or behavioural patterns.
Watanuki Kimihiro was known in his middle school as one of their seven wonders. He was known for his strange behaviour, his antics.
They called him mad, more often than not.
That did not bother him, not really. In some way, deep, deep inside himself, in a part – a mad part, no doubt – he did not dare even acknowledge, he was glad that he got at least that. He was glad that people looked at him, even if it was to just wonder at him and call him mad. At least he was a living, breathing madman. A yelling, spazzing madman more accurately, but that was beside the point.
Kunogi Himawari was known as a recluse girl, someone who always had a bright, friendly smile for people. She was known to have no close friends.
The people in her class, in her year, in her school, in her neighbourhood thought her mad, sometimes.
She never heard that, for when those words were spoken, they were always spoken away from her, in places where she was not and most likely would never be in. She knew, even as she watched her two new best friends, that she was mad. As mad as a hatter, like the saying goes. No one could remain sane with the knowledge that only her parents were completely immune to her curse along with a few chosen others.
Doumeki Shizuka was known as a quiet, calm person. He was known for his archery and his good looks, his family temple and his patience.
People mused that he was strange. But mad? Never.
He heard that almost daily, the words whispered behind hands as he walked past. At first he had been uncomfortable with the notion. For some reason he couldn't stop thinking that maybe that was not the truth. There had been something about the things his grandfather had taught him, something that made him think differently from others in a very wrong way. But now he had come to terms with the truth, he knew that he was mad and he had given up on trying to be anything else.
All three were mad; they held a madness inside of them, one different from the other. One was the madness of knowing things others did not. One was the madness of something that could not be changed, something that made you want to scream and at the same time want to laugh in delight. One was the madness of causing harm to oneself and through that, others.
Which madness goes with which teen, is debatable at best.
All that was known was that since they became, not friends exactly, but people who faintly recognized a similar madness in the others, they have slowly and carefully become more and more, not sane exactly, but more comparable to sane. If not for themselves, then for the others. Because causing pain to any one of them was so unforgivable it was equal to nothing.
Soooo... what d'you think? I'm aware that the grammar isn't the best, there most likely are more commas in there than was needed. I took quite a lot of them away actually before posting (I wrote this during the summer). Anyway, please leave a review! I love them!
On a random note... Who's exited that Clamp is continuing/remaking 'Legal Drug'? I am, I am! :D
Ta!
