I own nothing. I've gotten ten chapters out of my main story (for now), so this bit of oneshot is my reward for working hard. Hope you enjoy, hope you review, hope you can tell me what it is I need to do.

Seaweed Brain.

How many times has she ever said that? Hundreds upon thousands of times, easy. Annabeth looked over at him now. Percy was lying in the sand by the lake, enjoying some free time now that his job as savior of the world was over.

Annabeth says she looked over. Truth is, she studied. One of the first things she noticed were the bits of sand stuck to him, and the drops of water he allowed to stay. Mostly, they were in his hair. It was all messed up today, tousled and dark. Combined with the now sun-tanned skin, she couldn't think of anyone who could look more like a child of a Mediterranean god. A handsome one, too. Not that she could tell him too often. He is Percy, and he would get big-headed. He'd start strutting around, acting like he was the shit. Strutting about, proud. Standing tall, with his broad shoulders back. He'd certainly make more excuses to go shirtless. Seaweed Brain.

Percy yawned, and Annabeth turned her attention to his face. After all the sun he'd been getting, his cheeks were slightly more pink, and his nose had a funny little splash of freckles. His jaw contradicted this boyish feature, and had the slightest bit of stubble; he'd forgotten to shave this morning. Annabeth wasn't one for facial hair, but seeing it on Percy was different. Not a turn-on or anything, but more of a realization. He's actually grown to be a man. A real man. Scary thoughts. Annabeth started thinking about his eyes. Fact is, they gave her realizations too. Scared the daylights out of her sometimes, but made her feel jittery and clever and beautiful, just the way they looked at her. They drove her insane, but she couldn't tell him that. He'd make an effort to stare at her every day, just to mess with her. Seaweed Brain.

As she looked out over the lake, she started thinking about all the time they'd spent together. All the jokes, the fights, the misunderstandings, and yes, the kissing. The dating, the hugs, the hand holding, the secret glances. She sat there smiling over the water, just thinking about all the things they did. The stupid ways he tried to make her feel special, to be a good, normal boyfriend. Trying to sing, attempting to dance, showing her off to anyone who didn't already know her. Making her want to sing back, dance with him, and be the girlfriend that's friends with all of his buddies, the one that lasts. Seaweed Brain.

These memories did make her think about the rougher times, too. The times in the past year where she almost lost it. When he didn't start the conversations, or she knew she was overreacting but couldn't help it. They'd worked it out, of course. At this point she felt like there wasn't anything they couldn't work out, so long as she analyzed and he did his best. Seaweed Brain.

She couldn't help but look over at her boyfriend of nearly a year again. She had been looking for a few minutes, when all of a sudden Percy opened his eyes. She tried to look away, but it was a bit late for that.

"Studying my gorgeous self?"

Annabeth laughed. "Seaweed Brain."

She'd never tell him, but sometimes she was referring to herself, the way he made her feel. Like a Seaweed Brain.
