Lois walked out shutting the door behind her. Clark could sense Chloe behind him shaking with silent laughter.

Clark turned around slowly the corner of his lips turning up into a smile. His eyes drifted up to Chloe's and as soon as they met laughter erupted in the living room.

Chloe fell backward onto the couch sighing happily and she smiled. Clark plopped next to her with a grin on his face. They looked at each other and chuckled.

"Gee Clark I didn't know you had a thing for Lois." Chloe said as she sat back against a pillow.

Clark mock-glared at her. "Oh please. I just want to know why she would think that I would ever grab her ass under any circumstance." Clark settled back next to Chloe squirming around, getting comfortable.

"Well she thought you were upset about Lana," Chloe said quietly fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.

Clark breathed out heavily. "Yeah, you're right." He looked at his shoes, the laughter of the room gone.

Chloe reached over and took his hand gently in hers. Clark looked up and saw tears in her eyes. After blinking a few times he realized he had tears in his eyes too. He reached toward Chloe and she moved into his embrace as he hugged her tightly.

"Clark," she said muffled against his chest. "Do you want to talk about it?" Chloe felt him shake his head and she nodded.

Clark sighed heavily tears evident in his voice. They stayed like that for a few moments comforting each other. Clark pulled back first and they untangled themselves from each other, wiping tears from their eyes.

"So-" Chloe started but Clark cut her off.

"Do you think my dad misses us?" Clark asked randomly looking at Chloe with his head tipped sideways. Chloe blinked a few times then scrunched her nose up in sympathy.

"Of course he does," she replied smiling gently at him. "He's probably watching over us. He would be so proud of you for taking down the phantoms Clark." Clark glanced breifly at a photo of Jonathan on the mantel then turned to Chloe.

"I hope so," Clark said looking unsure.

"Clark." She took his face between her hands and pushed so that their eyes met. "He would be very proud to know that man you have become. Anyone would," she emphasized.

"Thanks." He replied quietly but gratefully. She patted his knee and stood up holding out her hand.

"Okay Kent, now it's time to do some work. We have people to save and billionaires to fight with." Chloe pulled Clark's arm and he stood up.

As she was walking away he touched her arm briefly and she turned back to him. He leaned forward and brushed a small kiss to her cheek. He pulled back and smiled.

"Thanks for talking to me Chlo," he said. "you know, about my dad." He smiled at her briefly before walking passed her to leave. Chloe followed him out with a smile on her face.
