Private Property.
That's what the sign read. Those words confused countless residents of the street. Not because of what the words said, but because of the two men who would always walk right on past it, and never get caught. Multiple different residents of the quiet neighborhood had reported the two to authorities.
They had given the profiles of the two men. The first and taller of the two had bright red hair and dark brown eyes. Freckles dotted his nose and the rest of his face, and he wore loose fitting jeans and a hoodie, though you could still see bits of his pale skin. He had a childlike sense of wonder about him, most commonly seen with a bright smile on his face.
The second was slightly shorter than his companion, his hair a dark ebony color, slightly ruffled at the ends. His eyes were a striking green color most describing them as emeralds. He was devoid of freckles, but equally as pale as his companion. He was most commonly seen wearing skinny jeans and sweaters, more often than not the sweaters were too large for him.
They were unassuming, so it confused the people as to why these two men were so blatantly trespassing, and as to why the authorities didn't seem to care. Well you see, these two men were actually a couple, and renowned war heroes. Both had fought in the same war, side by side, vanquishing the dark side.
These two were Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley, previous Gryffindor students, and two members of the Golden Trio. Harry and Ron had become a couple shortly after the war ended, months after getting together they gotten married, and then bought a house. But the neighborhood was nosy, so they agreed to put up a sign. One that said Private Property, as to ward off any unwanted eyes.
It wasn't trespassing if they owned the house, and on this day, a warm summer day. The two walked back to their home, but it wasn't quite the same. This time they had a child with them, a little boy with light brown hair and dark green eyes. They walked into their property, conscious of the eyes on their backs.
And they welcomed their son home. They had been in the process of adopting for a while, getting it approved by the ministry, and then hanging out at the magical orphanage for a while. The two had known immediately which child they wanted, the boy's name was Albus, and his green eyes looked so much like Harry's that they just couldn't say no.
So as they welcomed their son into his new home, they couldn't help but smile at his confusion. He had pointed out the sign, curious as to why they were supposedly trespassing. The two had just laughed, quickly and quietly explaining it to Albus. The only words they could utter as young Albus entered the home were short and simple.
"Welcome Home."
