These Unlikely Heroes

Introduction/Teaser

"You have a bit of something right there." Looking directly at her nose with a smirk, trying hard not to provoke the witch that stood before him with tear stained eyes, sweaty all over and dry patches of blood on random areas of her body. The battle had taken its toll on Hermione Granger, the loss of family and friends' weighing heavily on her shoulders, breaking down was the only way that she could cope with her fragile world. A sob worked its way through Hermione as she looked up to see none other than Draco Malfoy, the one that chose to become neutral just as the battles began, going against his family name sake and breaking the bond that his father had on him. He didn't know what to do his intension wasn't to try to make her cry again, it was an awkward way attempting to care. Silently and swiftly his hand was gently her nose and cheek ridding her of the said something of dirt, before walking away leaving her to stew in her own thoughts.

Shaking the memory of, Hermione took another sip of the butterbeer lying on the table in front of her. It has been almost 3 years since the final battle of the 2cd wizarding war, time stopped caving in on her and she was allowed to breath once more. The transition from war mode to normal mode took her a while to get used to she managed though by getting a job at the ministry and also leading her famous cause of SPEW which actually had taken off in popularity. Sighing inwardly she crumpled the napkin in her hands as she got up heading for the door and into the crisp winter air immediately apparating to the ministry of magic.

"So I see time hasn't changed a thing. Huh Granger?" the teasing voice of Draco Malfoy rang in her ears.

"I would think not since your just as pompous as ever little ferret" Hermione slapped back at him all the while walking into the building.

"Well it's good to see that bloody Gryfindor courage hasn't left you" sarcastically as he followed her into the grand hallway, into the lift all the while memo's of different colors and sorts flew about their head seeking out destinations.

"As always stuck in the trivial house rivalries, don't you ever think of maturing before you die as a smart ass." She chimed as she walked out of the lift and into the Department of Regulation and control of Magical Creatures, leaving a smirking Draco behind mildly stunned at the fast retort.
