TITLE: Ever After You

SUMMARY: Katie is a young, muggle girl living in the countryside with her parents. She experiences what she believes to be 'night terrors'. What she doesn't know is that these night terrors are simply the presence of a certain young wizard with an infatuation.

PROLOGUE

It had not been what I had expected at all. He had been wonderful, caring, loving, willing to take me places that put him in great danger, yet somehow I had let him slip. You wouldn't think so, but I do. We were each other's; I was his and he was mine, but I hadn't really grasped his mortality. There was no commitment; no thoughts of the future. And here I am, gone.

James loved me, and of that I am sure. Where he is now I don't know, but I know he is well and missing me. His family is still not aware of me, and I think he won't be speaking of me for quite some time. His famous father, my gosh, the way he talked about him so. I was and still am so envious of his admiration for his father, whom apparently finished off 'The Dark Lord' years ago. It fears me that I loved James simply because he was from what I had always thought to be a whole other world. I fear that I loved him because he seemed like a fairy tale to me, but my absence is a presence to him now and it hurts me to see him in such a state, so I know my affections must be authentic and pure. I try to reach out and tell him this, because I fear that he thinks my love was not real, but then I am reminded that he had told me so many times that I worry too much.

Forgive me, for I have been rambling. I think James somehow gave me that trait; when we first met I was quiet and timid and he would talk and talk on end. He brought me out of my shell, and I am so grateful for that. He was a journey, and a great one at that. I guess speaking of him so fondly is somewhat of an annoyance, assuming you know nothing about our relationship or why I am in the state I am in.

Let me tell you what happened. I'll start from the beginning…
