New Life.
The sun was shining and it was hot outside. Sam was sitting on the dock. She had been there now already for two days together with Jack as they both had the week off and for that Sam was eternally grateful.
The last few months had been extremely hectic, but the Ori were now finally defeated, at least as good as they could be defeated. Even though that Sam had given up Off World travel now for more then three years she still worked at the SGC; she was now the head of the Science department. The Joint Chiefs, along with General Landry, had wanted her to be posted at Area 51 again after Sam had quit her assignment with SG1. But she preferred to work at the SGC, with everyone there; also she could be there as support for her former team mates.
After that Jack also began to work less and they slowly but surely began to see each other more, and for this Sam was incredibly grateful. Sam was still enjoying the sun and her new book. She was lost in her thoughts so she didn't immediately notice that someone was tugging at her sleeve. Sam looked down at her side to see a little boy was standing next to her. Immediately pulling Sam out of her thoughts, "Hey big guy, are you and daddy back again?" She asked, pulling the little boy onto her lap as he grinned at her. The little boy nodded in response.
"Hey Sam," Came a male voice from behind her. She felt someone give her a sloppy, lovable kiss on her cheek; it was Jack.
"So how was the walk?" Sam asked Jack and Jacob, her son whom they often referred to as Jake, had just been for a little walk with their pet dog, Homer. The name was Jack's fault; she couldn't talk him out of it.
"Good, Homer enjoyed it. And you enjoyed it, Jake?" Jack asked his son.
"Yeah." The boy grinned, happily.
"So we need a little drink, don't you think? Do you want anything, Sam?"
"No thanks, I've already got some." Sam replied, smiling.
"Okay, then lemonade for this big guy and a beer for me." Jake immediately dropped off Sam's lap and walked after Jack. Homer was now laying quietly next to Sam, watching over the dock. Her life was now peaceful and good. Jake had been born four months after she stopped working with SG1, and he was now a happy toddler. Sam's gaze shifted towards the baby monitor, it was for little Grace, who was their five months old baby.
Jack then returned with Jake. Jake had some lemonade and was wearing a life jacket. Both Sam and Jack wisely deciding that would be the safest thing for him, even when he was a little bit further away from the dock. They didn't want something terrible to happen to their son. Jack moved to sit on the chair next to Sam with Jake on his lap. Sam heard the baby monitor crackle, child's cries told them that Grace was awake. "I'll get her," Sam said, and then she walked into the house and got little Grace out of her crib. It was time for her feeding again. Sam walked outside to the dock with Grace and gently sat down next to Jack, feeding her daughter.
After a few minutes of watching her family she realised it again - this was really her life now.
"We really are lucky people, aren't we?" asked Sam.
"Yep, we are." Jack beamed happily giving Sam another kiss.
Yes this was Sams new life, and she was happier then she had been for a long time. Her work was good, but it couldn't give her the feeling she had right now, with her own family.
Please review, i would appreciate it.
