Authors Note: I wanted this to be sad, but I'm not sure how well I did that. Let me know what type of story you think it is.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" There she stood defending her best friend, furry clearly etched in her face.
"Ah, Evans, don't make me hex you," James wouldn't have, she knew.
"Take the curse off him, then" Reluctantly he turned around, and took the curse off Snape. Severus could feel his cheeks burning with embarrassment. He tried to hide behind his long hair, but every one was still staring at him, why couldn't they just look away.
"You're lucky Evans was here, Snivellus-" In his rage, and anger Severus bit back with a retort he wished had never existed the moment it left his mouth.
"I don't need help from filthy little mudbloods like her!"
It had been two years, and he had not forgotten, the chance he had had, and blown. But now she was hanging off James Potter's arm, they had been dating for a couple months now. His life had gone on, although at first it seemed to drag by like soggy shoes in the mud. He had other things to occupy him life now, creating spells, and sinking deeper and deeper into the Dark Arts.
These thoughts ran through Severus's head, as he walked down the hallway, not caring who he bumped into, until "Hey! Watch it Snivelly!" Oh great, them. He turned around and saw the marauders, but now, Lily was with them, his scowl got, if it was possible, worse.
"What do you want Black?" for it was Sirius who had spoken.
"You bumped into me." He stated it as though it was an explanation.
"So?"
"So say sorry." Severus started to walk away but Sirius grabbed him roughly by his left sleeve, and whipped him around, when he did so, a flash of black could be seen on his left arm. Sirius, James, and Lily all looked at it, but it was Lily's eyes who lingered the longest. Oh Sev, why did you have to join the bloody Death Eaters? He wrenched himself free, and stalked off, as they continued on there way Lily let one tear slide down her face. A single tear for Severus Snape.
