"Who are you calling so short? You need a microscope to see," rang out through Central. So loud was that yell, many birds took flight in shock. Those who happened to work there just shrugged. They were used to the yelling and ranting by now.

In his office, Roy Mustang sighed as all of his dreaded paperwork flew about the room due to the flurry of arms and insults heading his way. There went a perfectly sunny and beautiful day, ruined by the resident pipsqueak. But he'd just be goading Ed on if he said that, and Roy had just finished his last pile of paperwork for once, Hawkeye would be shocked.

Glancing around, Mustang wondered where his brother was. Usually, he would have tried calming Ed down by now. Oh, that's right, he was visiting that mechanic of theirs- Jenny, her name was? No. That wasn't it. Winny? Winry, maybe?

He was shaken from his thoughts by a huge thump on his already messed up desk.

"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?"

Roy nearly jumped as he lifted his head up to peer into Ed's golden-brown eyes. Such beautiful eyes they were too, not that he'd ever tell Ed that. Couldn't have anyone knowing that he was attracted to the older Elric. He was proud of his reputation as the ladies-man of the military- and who knew what would happen to his career if the Furher found out. What was that boy saying now? Something about listening to him?

"I'm sorry Ed? What were you saying? It's hard to hear you from that height unless you speak up."

"Who are you calling so short you can't hear them…."

And there Ed went again. Honestly, that boy needed to shut up, once in a while, so people could actually form a coherent thought. Although- he did admit Edward looked cute with his flushed face and arms waving about like some kind of weird machine. Again, not that he'd ever tell him that. Right now, he needed to focus on getting the blonde to shut up.

An evil glint took over his eye as he thought more about it. Why not kill two birds with one stone? Getting up from his desk, Roy made his way towards Ed. The person in question didn't even notice as he continued to fume about his height, or lack thereof. Edward didn't even notice the Colonel was next to him until he felt his lips being pressed against his in one of the most fantastic kisses he had ever received. There wasn't a lot of kisses to begin with, but right now all he could think about was the firebug pressed close to him.

The kiss ended all too soon in Edwards opinion and it took him a moment to gather his wits about him.

"Maybe that will teach him to keep quiet a bit." Mustang smirked as he moved towards his office door, with a stack of papers discarded previously during Ed's short outburst, no pun intended.

Before he could place a gloved hand on the doorknob, Roy was whirled around to face Edward, who stood smirking. Roy merely raised an eyebrow at the younger's antics.

"Who said you could go?" was the only response before everything went into a slight haze for the both of them.

Meanwhile, everyone else in Central wondered what had happened to finally quiet down all the noise in Roy Mustang's office.
