Anubis smiled slightly staring at the residents of Anubis house from afar. It sometimes amazed him that some normal mortals could prevent such horrible things from happening so many times over. He had bet they wouldn't make it past their first year, but, apparently he was wrong. They were smiling and acting like normal teenagers, even though they had seen such terrible things, even though they knew such terrible things. Anubis blinked and looked away. He had things to do other than stare at some pointless teenagers. They were graduated now. They were packing up. Leaving Anubis house forever. Anubis felt and odd pang in his chest. Disappointment maybe. He expected great things from these kids as they grew up. But he worried. Who would be hear to protect Anubis House now? Nobody. That was the answer. Anubis wondered if these new children would continue on with the Sibuna club...they would...right? They had to.
"Excuse me, who are you?"
Anubis froze and turned around. He quickly recognized as Fabian Rutter. One of the first Sibunas. Anubis decided without thinking that this boy deserved to know the truth.
"Anubis." Anubis replied
"...What?" Fabian looked clearly shocked and doubtful
"Fabian Rutter..." Anubis's voice trailed off, he had no idea what to say to this remarkable teen "Thank you"
"You're welcome" Fabian replied looking more certain of himself "I just...Er..."
"Thought a god would look more ... godly?" Anubis guessed, he figured he looked very plain, he had come disguised as a skinny boy maybe 14. He liked this form a lot.
"Well yes" Fabian replied nervously "No offense"
Anubis laughs "Well...I apologize if you're disappointed"
"N-No not at all!" Fabian replied "This is actually amazing!"
"I'm very impressed with you" Anubis replied "I want you to keep this up, keep Sibuna alive"
Before waiting for a response Anubis walked away, he heard Fabian calling after him but he didn't reply. The Egyptian God just continued walking before breaking into a run and leaving Anubis house ... for now...
