"Star?!"

Marco walked down the hall, opening every neighboring door he came across, hoping to find a certain blonde girl. No luck came to him until he had reached Star's bedroom.

"Right! Should've checked her room first!"

Marco turned the golden doorknob and opened the door to Star's bedroom. He saw the familiar red hairband, the purple boots and the blonde locks. She was curled up into a ball, rocking back and forth.

Marco hesitated, but walked in cautiously, "Star, you okay?"

The reaction was immediate, as Star jerked up from her position to turn around and press her back against the wall. Her eyes were full of uncertainty and her perpetual smile was gone. She began to calm down after she realized that Marco was right there in front of her.

"Oh, um.."

She swept a strand of hair out of her face, getting up off the wall and standing up straight. "Nothing, it's stupid. I'll get over it."

Marco put on a stern face and walked over to her, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"No, something's wrong. Just tell me."

"Uh, no, I don't think I should-"

"Please. I want to help, you know."

Star sighed and let her bangs cover her eye.

"Well, I.. kinda had a nightmare."

Star sat on the edge of her bed ashamed. Marco let out a deep sigh and plopped down next to her, "What was it about?"

"Uh, it was.. well.." Star stuttered, "Me and you were fighting Ludo and his army, but.. b-but..."

Her eyes teared up and looked up at Marco.

"I accidentally... shot you with my wand and... you di-"

Marco put his finger up to Star's lip before she could continue, and hugged her tightly.

"Star. It was just a nightmare. It wasn't real."

Star started crying into Marco's shoulder, hugging him back.

"It just seemed so real.."

"It's okay, it wasn't real."

Star stopped her whimpering and everything went quiet.

She pondered about it, and concluded that Marco was right. It was just a nightmare, it wasn't real.

Star smiled and closed her eyes, letting their warm embrace drift her off to sleep.
