DRW: My sister and I were talking about how Malik really came to be because we were trying to determine whether he was related to a porcupine or artichoke. But then we realized the truth, and therefore, we created this. Sorry that it is so short. We hoped you guys knew the stories of when he first occured and stuff so that we wouldn't have to explain it in thorough detail. If not, then why are you reading this?
Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to Yugioh.
Malik is the yami and Marik is the hikari.
How Malik Truly Came About
Most people believe that Malik was created when Marik was forced to get the Tomb Keeper's Incitation, and out of his anger, Malik was born. However, Malik was in Marik even before that. No, the whole story began six years previous.
Poor, innocent, young Marik was sitting at the table waiting for his dinner to be served. Usually, Rishid served the most unique but good food that Marik has ever tasted. At least, it was better than the mush his sister or father made.
Hoping that Rishid cooked tonight, he was not disappointed when he saw Rishid walk out with another peculiar dish.
"Eat up, Master Marik, this combination will be sure to keep you healthy and strong," Rishid said, placing the plate in front of him.
Marik looked down at the plate in front of him. With green and yellow covering a big, brown meat, he wasn't sure what to make of it. Looking up at Rishid, he questioned what was before him.
"That is porcupine with pineapple and artichoke. This way, you will get your vegetables, fruit, and protein at the same time," Rishid explained. "I'll be in the kitchen cleaning up."
Rishid walked away, and Marik played with his food. He knew Rishid knew what was best for him, but he had an odd feeling about the food.
Cutting a small piece, he placed a little pineapple and artichoke on it and ate it. Much to his surprise, it actually tasted pretty good. He gobbled down more of the odd combination; however, he became careless and accidentally swallowed a needle of the porcupine.
Rishid had been sure to try and take away all the needles so that Marik wouldn't have to be careful himself, but he accidentally looked over one tiny one. However, this was a costly mistake.
As that needle fell into Marik's stomach, much to his unawareness, the needle poked a hole through his stomach and into his spleen.
Falling to the floor in pain, Marik felt some of the digesting liquid transferred into his spleen where Malik resided for many years.
Years later, while his father was carving the Tomb Keeper's Incitation into Marik's back, he accidentally carved a bit too deep and punctured a hole into his spleen. Quickly, they tried to sew up his spleen so he wouldn't bleed to death. Unfortunately, they forgot one small area where he was able to escape. That's right…the pineapple, artichoke covered porcupine was alive and kicking. Literally.
He kicked his way out of Marik's spleen at the exact moment that Marik's father was beating Rishid for letting Marik go outside. It was merely a coincidence that they occurred at the same time. It was not out of Marik's anger that Malik was born but out of Rishid's carelessness in the kitchen.
DRW: And he's such an angry person…thing because he's such a horrid thing. ;) Hope you guys liked it! And no, we were not high when we wrote this. We were simply crazy in the spa. The heat fumes got to us!
