I don't own Final Fantasy VII. If I did Aeris would be the last to die and Tifa would be the first.

The mind games she played with him tortured him to no end, but he continued to love her. CloudAeris

She teased him.

"Cloud! You're going to open that door for me aren't you?" Aeris winked at him as she passed by the blond into the hotel. "You're such a gentleman!" The brunette gave him a kiss and skipped away. Cloud blushed and cursed her under his breath for doing this to him.

She held him.

Aeris wouldn't let go. Cloud's head was held down to her bosom as her fingers played with his hair. She knew he was upset that Sephiroth was able to take over his body, so she did the only thing she could to help him.

The ex soldier refused to cry, but stayed in the flower girls arms. Aeris smelled like the flowers she sold and Cloud was easily lulled into sleep. Even when he awoke she was still there. She was still holding him.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked and she nodded at him.

She didn't cry for him.

Cloud hated crying. It was a sign of weakness. Tifa cried constantly, but Aeris's tears were never shown to the blond.

He had to leave alone to do something for himself and Tifa yelled at him to let her go too, but the other girl stayed quiet. His old friend left crying and the flower girl told him. "Come back."

Cloud touched her cheek. "I will always come back."

"No matter what?" Aeris prodded.

He nodded and left.

She didn't lie to him. Aeris did a lot of things for Cloud that went unnoticed to everyone else around them. For that he was glad because he didn't want the teasing or attention. Their moments were special, but she drove him insane. The ex soldier was always trying to figure out what was on her mind and read her like a book, but the last ancient would always do something that surprised him. It made the little moments he tried to analyze her useless.

Aeris sacrificed herself for everyone's future. Cloud was left to let her body sink into the water and leave to stop Sephiroth, but it was barely a day that he didn't think of her. How could he not? Even Tifa said she wouldn't do something like Aeris did.

Cloud sighed. "I can't stop thinking about you. I never even realized I loved you until you were gone. Your actions still make no sense! They never have… Your mind games are gone, yet I still think I'm in one of your pranks… What have you done to me Aeris?"

He still tried to figure the flower girl out, even with her being dead. Not a second would pass where he thought of her. That was how her mind games worked…

And it still drove him insane.
