Bar Brawl

"Did I ever tell you 'bout the time I got shot?"

"No," Castiel answered, concerned.

"Yeah... breakin' up a fight. Everyone seemed calm, but then the guy shot me in the back."

"Goodness!" Castiel sighed, running a hand over the site of the injury.

"It was... touch and go... for a while…."

Sam decided he wasn't drunk enough for this. "What he's not telling you, Cas, is that he was so obnoxious that Gordon shot him in the ass with a salt round. Not his finest hour."

Ignoring his brother's scowl, Dean leaned in even closer. "Wanna see the scar?"

Look Back in Disinterest

They thought he'd come back, but he hadn't. Not in the ways that mattered, anyway.

There was too much going on for anyone to really focus on the unlikeliness of his story. Winchesters and Campbells just seemed to resurrect as a matter of course these days. No one even questioned it!

They just let him do what he wanted, thinking, hoping, that he was the same person.

He wasn't. That's why he'd been avoiding then all in the first place.

They still remembered the "big guy, shy boy" from before.

Whatever. It's not like he cared about any of them.
