Disclaimer: The SG-1 characters do not belong to me and I don't own them, nor do I profit from this story. The characters belong to Gekko...and those other guys.
Notes: This is prompted by a challenge from my SMK group to write a story exactly 100 words long. They call it a Drabble.
She Needs Me
She stood, looking me straight in the eyes, and said what she meant to. I won't forget it. Right after, she was scared, exhausted and maybe even embarrassed. Turns out, she did the right thing.
I was stoic and still grumpy from being hit, even knowing I might've died . . . which would have been the last thing she needed. With roles reversed, I would have needed her alive, too.
What guts it took, knowing I might turn her away. I wasn't certain, either, till I took those three steps. But then, I held her...'cause that's what I needed.
