Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Diesel's Return" This story is set during Season 4. Enjoy and comment.
It was summertime on the Island of Sodor. There were more passengers than ever, and all the engines were working their hardest, taking them all across Sodor.
On Skarloey's railway, the work was hardest of all. and the engines were cross.
"We need another engine to help us!" protested Skaroley.
"Yeah." replied Peter Sam. "An engine who can help us with all this work."
Just then, Sir Topham Hatt arrived.
"I need Peter Sam to collect some freight cars full of ice-cream, and take it to the seaside."
"Why do I have to do it?" groaned Peter Sam.
"Because really useful engines never argue and do as they are told!"
"We need another engine to help us with all the work!" said Skarloey.
Sir Topham Hatt stopped to think for a second.
"If I send another engine, will you all be really useful?"
"Yes sir!" said all the engines.
Next day, the engine arrived. It was Diesel!
The engines were pleased.
"This is perfect!" exclamed Skarloey.
Sir Topham Hatt spoke to Diesel.
"Will you behave and be really useful?"
"Yes sir." said Diesel.
"That's good. Now Skarloey, show Diesel around."
Later that day, Diesel was asked to take passengers to the seaside.
He was coupled up to the coaches, and he set away.
The rest of the day went smoothly, and Diesel was behaving better than ever.
Percy was surprised when he saw Diesel dropping off his last load of passengers for the day.
"Sir Topham Hatt asked me to work here!" he exclaimed. "I'm being really useful!"
But Percy was worried that Diesel would soon be up to no good.
And he was right. Early next morning, Diesel was shunting some freight cars in place. The cars were laughing and teasing him
Diesel was cross, so he bumped the freight cars so hard, that they broke into pieces!
Later that day, Sir Topham Hatt came to see Diesel.
"I need you to take freight cars of ice cream to the seaside."
Diesel was coupled up to the freight cars, who were being sillier than ever.
"You can't pull us, you can't pull us!" they laughed.
This made Diesel very cross. He set off at once.
However, he didn't realize that the cars weren't coupled up right. He went so fast, that the cars became uncoupled, and the cars crashed into some buffers! Ice cream flew everywhere, landing on Diesel, Skarloey, and even Percy!
Sir Topham Hatt was not impressed.
"I thought you could be a really useful engine, but you have proved wrong!" he boomed. "And, I heard that you ruined some freight cars! This is unacceptable for my railway, so I'm sending you away!"
Diesel moaned as he set off.
Now, the engines on Skarloey's railway work their hardest, even though Diesel wasn't there to lend an extra hand
