How somber it was, the little girl with the stripe in her hair. How sobering to see her there, weeping silently, curled up by the window in layers upon layers of silk and lace. As much as she had surrounding her, one would believe it was a wedding dress, on her wedding day, where she was left alone by her chosen suitor. How sad it seemed.
Fortunately, the event was merely an unfortunate spill, followed by the loosening and collapsing of the curtain rail, and there it fell all around her. Her tears were of pain, but the weeping was laughter. And Logan laughed with her.
But I am not sure if I should have been jealous of him, how he holds her tight, while being careful not to touch her, such an ironic thing. He hides his fear well. But it makes me angry. I want to be where he is. I want to be Logan. I want Rogue.
Bobby Drake clicked the submit button, then stared blankly at the screen. He rested his head on his fist, while clicking at the keyboard with the other. 'Messaging is a bore when you're depressed,' he thought. The only two people online were Jubilation Lee and Kitty, whose last name he didn't know, and both of them were literally down the hallway…with Rogue. "ARGH!" He screamed, half in frustration, and half in pain. He went to bang his head on the desk in front of him, but the skin of his cheek semi-froze to his hand. Somehow, his hand managed to freeze completely. 'Must've cut off circulation…' Bobby thought. 'I've got to see MacTaggart about that…' he chuckled to himself. "Heh, my fist trip to a…mutant…doctor…"
A chime through his green laptop speakers signaled the arrival of another buddy. It was Rogue. "Oh shit!" He exclaimed, quickly balancing his temperature and typing out an instant message even quicker.
BDrake82: Hey…
TheRogue49: Hi Bobby!
BDrake82: Hey, wanna go with me to the celebration at Purchase Park?
It was a long wait until she responded. Then she did.
TheRogue49: I can't, I already promised Logan I'd go with him. I'm sorry!
Bobby felt his heart sink. "Damn." It seemed like no matter how hard he tried to be the first to ask, the first in line, the first to be nice, Logan always was a step ahead…and she – Marie – she saw him before anyone else in a room, even if it were full.
TheRogue49: Are you still there?
Bobby couldn't think of anything to say. He stared blankly at the screen, and all he could think about was Logan. How that bastard could be something special to her was beyond him. How she was so sweet to him, but to Bobby as well, but he knew now that it was all an act. You have to be nice to everyone. 'But not anymore.' Bobby thought. 'That Southern Belle's boyfriend about to get a dose of Yankee Attitude.' He closed his laptop and grabbed his jacket before leaving his room.
