After the adventure in Enoshima, the gang had started to stray. Haru would occasionally come back from his home planet to visit Yuki during his vacations while Akira and Natsuki were both somewhere across the world, hard at work. Though it wasn't exactly work when you loved what you did. Even so, they all did their best to try and keep in touch.
6:30 am. It was another cold, sleepy morning. The sun was just barely inching its way out of it's set as Akira lazily got out of bed. It was currently the cold season in Montreal and his toes were busying themselves with freezing off as he pulled on some fuzzy socks in hopes of preventing that. Tapioca waddled from the warmth of the bed as well, ruffling her feathers and giving a loud quack. She wasn't exactly what you would call a morning person. Or duck. Akira cranked up the heater as they dragged themselves from the room.
6:37 am. Akira slowly raised a warm mug of coffee up to his lips, sighing as he drank the bitter beverage. He was slightly awake now, sipping coffee and scrolling through his phone while reading his assignment for the day. It was a simple one, really. All he had to do was stalk the target for the day and report any suspicious behavior. Nothing too big.
7:00 am. Dark hands slid up as the tie was gently tightened around the freshly groomed man's neck. Akira stifled a yawn as he looked into the mirror. His suit was straight and clean-cut, not a wrinkle in sight. His turban was tightly wound around, over and across his head with just enough hairs hanging out to make it look professional. Perfect, he smiled to himself. Just then, his phone, lying upon his nightstand, started to vibrate. A text message. Akira strolled towards his phone, picked it up, and unlocked it. It was Natsuki.
Good morning.
It wasn't that it was rare of them to text each other, they had actually gotten quite close and talked often, but like Tapioca, Nastuki wasn't necessarily a morning person. Surprised, but smiling, Akira swiftly typed back.
Morning. Aren't you tired?
A few moments passed before the phone vibrated once again.
Sort of, but I had a sort of strange dream that left me wide awake.
Akira thought for a moment. Natsuki was probably trying to kill some time before having to go to work. Akira smiled at the thought that he chose him for the time being.
Strange dream?
Yeah, you were in it too.
Really? What kind of dream was it?
This time, Natsuki didn't answer immediately. A minute or so passed before Akira put down his phone to go fix a bagel for himself before leaving to work. After a bit he returned to the room, bagel in mouth, and picked up his phone once more.
The bagel fell to the floor, cream cheese coating the polished wood. Tapioca quacked and started to pick at the bread.
Actually, it was sort of lewd.
i really do miss the cold months, this immense heat is driving me insane. i live in a state known for it's cold weather, everyday rain and grey clouds constantly ruling the skies, so whenever summer swings by, it's always a real shock. right now, im really itching for hot drinks of the chocolate kind and sleeping to the sound of rain drumming against the ceiling.
