Peregrin Took ran as if all the orcs of Mordor were unleashed behind him. His small form fairly flew over the ground, but as he dared looked back over his shoulder, it was evident to his wildly beating heart the foe was gaining. Indeed, the angry cries of his adversary were ever louder, gaining, gaining! From out of nowhere, the large, gnarled roots of an ancient mallard tree exposed themselves to be a traitor, and Pippin went sprawling in an untidy heap on the rough ground; the breath knocked out of him. All the hobbit could do was stare wide-eyed, with gasping breath, as his enemy loomed over him. The black figure seemed to block out the very light of the moon. Evil laughter rolled forth from the looming length of shadow boring over pippin. "so. the culprit is caught, like a rabbit in a snare." Pippin could only squeak out a protest from his starved lungs, "no-no." Hands of steel suddenly bit under the hobbits arms, lifting him high in the air. "GANDALF!" screamed pippin, as the black figure held him above his head, chuckling wildly. "Pippin, Pippin! My young friend, when are you going to learn that the wizard will not always be around? Now what have you done with my pipe- weed?" Aragorn asked; as he set the hobbit none to gently back on the ground. A soft-pitched elvish laughter was Aragorn's only answer at the moment. Legolas appeared over the king's shoulder, looking down on the distraught hobbit. Blue eyes twinkling, the elf turned to his long time friend-brother. "The ranger has indeed forgotten, seemly, the teaching of his childhood in Rivendell, namely torture!" and with these words spoken, the elf sprang upon the terrified Pippin, his long fingers latching onto the young hobbits rib cage. They began tickling, tickling. Aragorn stood apart, frowning, or trying to.as Pippin gave in. "Ok! It was me! Aragorn, you should never leave your pack so close to a hobbit."
