The wind whistles through the trees with increasing force. A young teen picks her way carefully through a thorn bush, followed by her two older companions."Recon it'll rain?"She asks, looking up at the darkening sky."I recon, Raegan."says her taller, bespectacled companion."We should find a shelter before the bloody rain starts."states her other companion, as he furrowed his thick caterpillar like brows."Oh Arthur," Raegan chuckles at the man. "No rain ain't eva' hurt nobody, right Alfred?"Alfred laughs, nodding, as he throws an arm around the brit."Yeah, lighten up Iggy!"Arthur shoves the man off him."I told you not to call me that, git!"he fumes, blinking when he feels a drop of rain."Bloody great! Now it's raining!""You brits are funny, ya know tha'?" Raegan says, laughing as she sticks her tongue out."Oh HA HA,"Arthur says sarcasm dripping from his voice."Very funny. You are SO mature!""I know,"she smiles brightly at him."Americans,"he mumbles under his breath with a sigh. How he had ended up with the likes of them, he would ponder for the rest of his gosh darned life."If it makes ya feel any better, we could fin' a cave."Alfred suggests."Yeah! I thin' ther's a cave jus' ahead!" Raegan adds with a bounce in her step and a smile on her face. Arthur smiles and shakes his head at the girl's antics. As much as he hates to admit it, Arthur doesn't think he could ever live without the rambunktious Americans."An' we could go ta the job in the mornin'"Alfred exclaims, bouncing around the smaller man."Okay, calm down git. Raegan,"Arthur says, turning to her."You said there was a cave nearby, right?""Yeah! I rememba wher' it is too!"she replies happily, grabbing their hands and dragging them. After a while of dragging, they reached a small cave."Jus' as I rememba it!"she exclaims, plopping herself down on a log."Raegan Dawn! That is in no way ladylike. Sit up!"Arthur scolds the teen. She huffs and sits in the proper way Arthur taught. Alfred snickers."Yeah! Ya gots'ta be all ladylike~!"he teases."Alfred Frankie Jones! Do not tease her, or I'll have you over my knee in two seconds flat!"the brit scolds. "Now apologize Alfred." "Sorry Rae." Alfred says, pouting."S'Kay pig."She says sticking her tongue out."Who ya calling pig, cow!?"he shouts face pink."You, ya hogfaced swine!"Raegan yells, now in the man's face. Sighing, Arthur smacks them both on the back of the head."Go to bed you gits!"he growls, face red with anger. Both teens pout as they set up their mats."What 'bout suppa'?"Alfred whines. "Yeah!"Raegan chimes in. "What 'bout suppa'?"Arthur shakes his head."I have some cornbread and a can of cold beans left."he says, getting out the food and rationing it out. All three of them got a piece of cornbread with a small bowl of beans. Arthur watches as the two teens scarf down their food as fast as they could."Don't kill yourselves, gits."he warns, eating his food slowly. Alfred finishes first, licking his bowl clean."Don' worry 'bout us Iggy."he yawns, moving his mat closer to the smaller man. Raegan finishes her food and sets her boul down."I always worry about you two, Alfie."Arthur says fondly. "Aww shucks Iggy!"the man beams."Ya do care~!"Arthur blushes and cuffs his head. "Aww~! You two are so cute!" Raegan giggles, laying down on her mat."Night boys!" "Good night dear."Arthur says."Night Rae."echos Alfred. Arthur sets up his mat next to Alfred's."Good night Alfred."he yawns."Night Iggy." Alfred says falling asleep. Arthur looks at the sleeping teens, smiling softly."Good night,"he says, finally falling asleep.
