A young woman was in a bad car accident. The other driver had been texting and driving. As it happens, that person was going to be alright. This girl, however, was not. She opened her eyes to be blinded by a white light. A man came into view. He had black hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a trench coat.
"Castiel? I thought you were only in tv. And even if you were real, I didn't think you'd actually look like that..."
"This vessel is actually very appealing. I am fortunate to have been given consent to use it to make myself recognizable."
"What are you doing here? Why is everything all white?"
"You're dying."
"But if you're real, doesn't that mean other things are real? Like reapers? Shouldn't I be seeing one of them?"
"Normally, yes, but this reaper has agreed not to show itself and allow me to handle this."
"How much longer do I have?"
"Not much."
"But at least I'm going to heaven, right? I always figured there'd be an angel there to close my eyes…"
She sang a few lines of "By Heart" by Jim Brickman featuring Laura Creamer mostly to herself.
"Your good deeds in life have allowed this to be so."
"Then, if there's not much time left, let me quickly say goodbye."
In her hospital bed, the young woman whispered goodbye in a voice barely audible to the loved ones surrounding her. After she had said that, Castiel reached out and closed her eyes, unbeknownst to anyone but himself and the young woman. He then accompanied her soul to heaven to ensure all was well.
