A/n: hi! When I was eating strawberries, I had a sudden inspiration for writing this fic. I know, it's really weird… but deal with it. Ah, whatever, enjoy.

Together

She and Sasuke were now officially together. Ever since that night. But, as exciting as the subject was, Sakura knew that it couldn't be true.

She had seen him kissing Ino.

With tears of blind rage, Sakura had run all the way home.

To cry herself to sleep.

She remembered how it first happened.

After a painstaking morning and afternoon of endless, exhausting training, Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura were able to relax. They even ate at Ichiraku for ramen, on Naruto's request. They had laughed, talked, had fun, and now it was late evening. Time to get home.

Sasuke unexpectedly inquired his teammate if he could walk her home. Confused, Sakura agreed. They trudged in silence until finally reaching the pink-haired girl's house.

"Thanks, Sasuke-kun," she chirped happily. And it was over that doorstep that he asked her to be his girlfriend. Speechless, Sakura had hugged him before disappearing inside, promising that they would train together the day after next.

Together.

It was all just a dream now. Part of the past.

She wiped a few stray tears away as she jumped from the tree she was seated in. Sakura had promised him the training session, and she was determined to fulfill it. There was no point in avoiding him; he would just track her down, and she'd have to explain it all.

Pointless.

She walked toward the woods, head down. Sasuke said that he would meet her at the opening, but she passed it, almost running by the time she reached the middle of the forest. Here, Sakura began to punch one of the trees, taking out her anger on it.

She carried on for nearly half an hour before she sensed someone else leaping towards her direction. Sakura paid no heed as Sasuke, sweating slightly and frustrated, landed next to her.

"Do you have any idea how long I've been looking for you?" he said angrily. "We agreed to wait at the point where the trees start to gather! Did you forget or something?"

Sakura just relentlessly continued, now beginning to kick at the trunk. Something caught her leg.

Sasuke stood there, scowling at her.

"You're so stubborn! Why won't you answer me?"

She wrenched her leg out of his grasp, wincing as she severely strained it, and twisted so that he was facing her back.

"You know what you did…"

"I-"

"Traitor."

There was an uncomfortable silence as he stood staring. Tears began to form once again, and Sakura bent down as she prepared to spring back into the trees. But before she could do so, a pair of arms reached over and wrapped around her thin waist.

"Don't go."

Sakura tried to move, but his grip was strong. Finally, she lay limp, defeated in the chance to escape. Sakura turned, still in his embrace.

"You…"

She was unable to complete her sentence as she was enveloped into a hug.

Sasuke pulled back. "I didn't do anything." Sakura gazed into his obsidian eyes, once filled with coldness and hatred. Now, the negative feelings were gone.

And right then, she knew he was telling the truth.

"I – I'm sorry."

He smiled softly and stroked her radiant, pink hair. "There's nothing to apologize about. We'll always be together, no matter what anyone says or does."

"I'm glad."

Sasuke stretched forward and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Spying on them from the cover of one of the trees, Ino tugged brutally on her own long ponytail, gritting her teeth and sulking.

A/n: Well, how'd you like it? I know, it's REALLY weird… and if you didn't get it, it was Ino who made Sakura think that Sasuke was kissing her in the beginning. She was – say it – say it – JEALOUS! And evilly making plans to split them. Mission Failure!
