This idea came to me out of nowhere, I was just listening to music and then BAM this came to me. I have no idea if anyone will read this, but if you do, I hope you like it.
"I'm bored." I leaned back on the couch, groaning.
"Well, we could go outside." Tyler pointed out.
"It's raining, stupid." I muttered, crossing my arms.
Tyler sighed, running his fingers through his thick black hair. I watched him through my lashes. Tyler and I were close friends, but we still disagreed sometimes-what friends don't?-like right now, for instance.
It was raining outside, and Tyler wanted to go for a run through the woods. I told him he was stupid, let's watch a movie or play video games instead. Unfortunately, there was nothing to watch, and we couldn't agree on what to play. I glanced outside fearfully. The rain wasn't why I didn't want to go.
"Eve, I'm going through the woods with or without you. I'm bored and there's nothing I can do at home. Feel free to join me."
He just walked out the back door and into the woods. I started shaking, tears coming out of my eyes. I attempted to walk after him, and froze. I just couldn't do it. I was too scared. I hugged my sides. I couldn't go, not after what I had seen.
I mentally slapped myself. He was my friend, I had to suck it up and be brave! He might die, and I'm not doing a damn thing. I started to run towards the woods-just as they leaped out.
"No!" I screamed and ran to him.
Flashback
I was sitting in the basement, reading. I heard a noise from outside, and looked up. Five shadowy figures were moving around outside. I closed the curtains and peeked through. Each one was dark and wispy, and had red eyes. One looked in my direction.
I went cold, and felt a horrible pain. I put my hands over my mouth and did my best not to scream, throw up, and then pass out. I shut the curtains, certain I was seeing things. Perhaps it was all a dream? Ok, I know, I'm awake, but still.
Over the next few nights, I continued to see the figures and take notes on them. They avoided the house, and aside from the first time, never saw me. One time, I could have sworn they flickered like a bad signal.
End of flashback
The recoiled as I drew near. After seeing how they flickered last time, I had an idea but I wasn't sure it would work. If it was wrong, I was totally screwed. I went and threw water in the bushes-that's where it looked like the light was coming from. I had a scream.
"Eve, what the hell?!" One of the people in the bushes coughed. "Why did you do that?"
"I figured it was you jerks." I muttered.
Ok, they weren't actually jerks, they were my friends, but it was still a mean trick they played on me.
"That was some trick. Can I ask how you pulled it off?" I glared at them.
"We used a bunch of projections and as for the sounds, we used recordings. Pretty neat, huh?" Tyler and the leader of the guys, Joe, said, grinning sheepishly.
"I would say yes but it wasn't funny it was a stupid prank and you shouldn't do stuff like that. I was terrified for my life and soul." I growled. I might be tiny, but I could be scary.
"We're sorry." They mumbled.
I sighed and smiled lightly at them. "It's fine, just don't do it again. Let's head back to my house and have some hot chocolate and cookies."
And that, my friends, is how my day went from boring, to scary, and normal again.
Well the ending was weird, I know, but I couldn't figure out how to make it end without starting a whole new thing and getting into detail. Hope you liked it, leave a review if you did.
Peace out!
