A/N: Greetings, just another random while trying to survive placement and fight off the evil forces of the dreaded writers block! Just a wee reminder that I'm still around before I disappear back into my shell
Enjoy...please review, it'll help cheer me up as I've missed my doodles.
Darkness Spreading
And so the little lamb ventured away from the safety of her flock. She strayed out of the protective wall that surrounded the school and disappeared into the darkness of the dense forest.
The warm sunshine danced playfully between the white cotton wool like clouds but that all changed.
Fast approaching from the horizon was grey, menacing clouds that threatened the peace and tranquillity of the day.
The grey clouds caused the daylight to end prematurely. The temperature plummeted, sending a chilling wind throughout the land. The wind spiralled between the trees with grace and parted the long grass like an invisible force, chasing and hunting down the lone lamb.
It was only a matter of time, bidding and patiently waiting.
All powerful and confident, she feared nothing however this was her own doing. She preferred to be alone, the solitude and silence with only her own thoughts. Her fellow colleagues relied on her far too much, for support, help and power to restore order from chaos but who looks and cares for the martyr herself?
And this was the ultimate weakness, the chink in the armour.
Too engrossed in her work, collecting and stocking herbs, she failed to notice the elemental changes. Slowly circling, the ice maiden was something wicked.
Amelia, Imogen and Lavinia sat in small staffroom. They each sipped warm tea while enjoying the warmth of the open log fire.
It was one of those rare times when the students were settled which allowed the teachers to fully relax, trading tall tales of their past. Those rare times when they all forgot that they were just colleagues and felt like family.
"Oh dear! Looks like a storm is approaching" observed Lavinia, clutching her mug tightly in her hands
There was another flash of lightening, followed by a torrential downpour.
Imogen shrugged "It's just a bit of thunder and lightening..."
"It's not just that Imogen...there's something different, mother nature" replied Lavinia
"Mother nature?"
"Likely to cleanse the air and land..." her voice trailed off
Amelia yawned tiredly "I do apologise ladies...but I do believe I will have to turn in for the night"
A shadow danced along the wall, nearing Walker's gate and nearing the school.
The night was unusually empty, devoid of the usual woodland activity of the nocturnal creatures. Everything was so still or perhaps in hiding.
