"Ms. Swan, I don't want this to give you any odd ideas a- what are you wearing?" The brunette stopped short at the sight of the blonde woman who seemed to be ignoring her tirade that she had started as soon as she had walked into the Sheriff's office.

"Regina, you stopped yelling already?" There was a note of affection in the taller woman's voice as she leafed through some paperwork that James had left for her during his brief stint as Sheriff.

Shaking her head, making the ends of her styled hair sway, the former Mayor ended up staring at the black rimmed glasses perched on the end of a pert nose.

"You wear glasses?"

Hazel green eyes looked through lenses as she raised a pale brow at the question. Removing the article in question, Emma looked at the old frames in her hand.

"Ah, these. I forgot I was wearing these." A soft chuckle escaped her as she looked over the slightly worn black plastic. "Yea, my prescription contacts ran out while I was over 'there' and I'm waiting on a new one. Had to break these out from one of my boxes to go over this stuff from when I was gone." She waved dismissively at the paperwork with her hand and then pushed the frames back onto her face.

The clack of Regina's heels echoed across the floor as she made her way to the reinstated Sheriff's side. Though no longer the Mayor, she still held herself regally ever the queen. She gracefully pulled herself to sit on a clear corner of the paper-strewn desk. The blonde's brows rose to her hairline as she leveled a questioning gaze on the brunette.

"I...Ms. Swan. The details of your return..." Regina trailed off as she tried to gather her thoughts. Glancing up at the tanned face of Emma, her eyes were drawn to the dark frames again.

"Don't worry about it. It's...complicated." A light blush rose on skin that was normally paler than Regina's. A line furrowed between her brow as the glasses blocked the former Mayor's view. Reaching a hand out, she plucked the frames off and fiddled with them between her hands.

Hazel eyes squinted a little in confusion as she looked between her old glasses and the other woman's face. "Regina...?"

"You know, Emma," the alto voice took on a distinctly coy tone as she tapped an arm of the glasses against the side of her lips. "It is complicated but it seems that old saying is true."

The blonde seemed mesmerized as she watched her frames tap lightly against those red lips. "What saying?"

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder." A small smile curled at the corner of her lips. As her caramel eyes locked with green, Regina watched as Emma's pupils dilated at the sight of one of the frames' arms disappeared between her red lips.

After seeing the positive reaction she got out of her sheriff, she pulled the plastic from her mouth with a quiet pop. Sliding lightly from the desk, she stepped into the other woman's personal space and slowly put the glasses back to rest on Emma's nose, pushing them fully into place slowly.

Brushing past the rattled blonde, Regina let the smirk take over her mouth as she walked towards the hallway leading to the exit of the Sheriff's office.

"Do try to finish up that paperwork. Wouldn't want to keep any other...appointments waiting."

As the door to the hallway swung shut, the brunette let out a light hearted laugh. The sound of rustling paperwork, and a woman scrambling to finish it echoing in her ears.
