He sits at the table, drinking his tea,
Upon his hat, a card with a suit of spade.
The scene itself portrayed insanity,
But his madness did not grow, it was made.
His brain, poisoned by the mercury,
This is the drawback to his trade.
He was The Hatter,
To him, time didn't matter.
From his throat rang out laughter.
This crazy poor man, this, Mad Hatter.
He stood upon his seat and spoke loud and clear,
All the while, motioning for the girl to come near.
"Welcome to Wonderland, a place of fantasy!
But to all of us here, this is reality!
Can't believe what your eyes see?
In my eyes, you are as mad as me!
You, my dear, are as mad as a hatter!"
And once again did ring out his mad laughter,
No one was madder than The Hatter.
