A Taste of Freedom
Disclaimer - If I owned Stargate, Kiryk would be on a lot more. Probably a regular on SGU :)

Spoiler - Tracker (519)
A/N - I was rewatching Tracker a few days ago ;) and I really wanted to know what happened to Kiryk next. So, maybe?
Kiryk only needed a moment to decide. He'd do anything to keep Celise safe. He held the doctor's gaze. "Make sure she's taken care of." He continued to hold her gaze until she nodded. Quickly then, he attached the transporting device back on his arm and activated it.
Down in the clearing, he took out first one wraith then another.
And another.
And one more as he skidded to the dialing device. An address came to mind with numerous possibilities to lose the cursed wraith. He breathed a prayer of thanks to the Ancestors for bringing the Lanteans to him. Now there was nothing to worry about beyone of week or two of shaking his tormentors. Child's play.
Once on the next planet, Kiryk waited to the side of the gate for the foot soldiers to come through. Quickly, hi killed the first two wraith that came through and transported to the far side of the valley. Under the cover of some trees he saw a dart fly through and drop two more wraith from their beam.
This was workable. The dart started circling the valley looking for him. Kiryk teleported another couple of miles to a small clearing and allowed himself to be seen from above. He deliberately ran to the far side of the clearing. Once back under the cover of the trees he teleported off to another direction. From there, he cautiously circled back to the gate. When the clearing in front of the gate was clear for five minutes, he darted out and dialed the gate.
Unfortunately, t he next planet was in early winter. It was bitterly cold but with no snow on the ground. He methodically laid a trail toward the hills in the distance. He set a couple of traps along the false trail to further confuse the wraith. Carefully, he made his way back to the gate and dialed a relatively safe planet, found a cave and slept.
After a short night, Kiryk repeated the process of laying trails and traps on five other worlds. Hopefully, that would be enough to allow him to shake his oppressors.
Kiryk could scarcely believe it. A week ago he'd been out of his mind with worry for Selise and had an utterly bleak future. Today, Selise was being taken care of by the pretty doctor and protected by his brother runner, and he no longer had a working tracking device. Suddenly, there were possibilities where there were none before.
For a week, he hid himself on the third planet - watching for any signs of wraith and returned to a different planet to sleep each night.
After two weeks, he chanced staying on a planet. It was almost as if he were daring the wraith to come get him.
The third week, he decided to defy fate itself and start looking for signs of the Lanteans. Only with them could he and Celise truly live.
A/N - I have no clue if I want to continue this story. Let me know if you want to. In any case, I thought this would be a good place to stop. Remember, reviews are like butter pecan ice cream! Delicious!
