Chapter 1
Every time a person looks into a mirror, they get this strange feeling as if their reflection knew something they didn't. And then just like that, their reflection would waver and instead of themselves they would see a person not them staring at them. Hollow eyes, dirty nails… you know the deal. It would be just for a second and the person would be back to staring at themselves. They would probably shrug it off and dismiss it as a mind trick. But I can assure you they are very real. We call them Grimms after the famous Grimm brothers known for their bloodthirsty tales. Grimms were people punished by the Scarlet Queen for disobeying her. Trapped in a mirror, forced to imitate a person until one become a mindless, hollow soul.
I was twelve when I first met a Grimm. I had just washed my hair and was attempting to curl it in the same way Carla Smith, the prettiest girl in my class had. My reflection wavered and in place of a twelve year old, I found myself staring at a girl 3-4 years older than me. Her eyes the color of flowing water and her hands bloody. She was trying to say something to me. I couldn't understand. She held up her hand and wrote 'Mary' in red letters on the mirror. I found myself screaming, crying out to my mother for help. By then, the girl was gone but the word remain. It was like as if the girl wanted to be remembered by that name only. My mother, sadly didn't see the ghost and rather missed the writing. After that, therapist and psychologist visits became my world. I was declared sane by 13 doctors but my mother knew something was amiss.
That was 8 years ago.
