Winterlude
The winter wind whipped against their skin, chilling them both.
Giggling, the human girl pressed her body closer against his, as he wrapped a single arm around hers. She was warm, warm like a peaceful summer day.
"Let's go get some hot cocoa, Doctor," she suggested.
And so they did, passing a peaceful moment on earth in a cafe together. In between monsters and morals, running and regrets, they would always have times like this, times when they simply were together.
And that was something he'd always be grateful for.
Author's note: Fluffy fluffiness is fluffy. Forgive me; even on my other profile, I didn't have much experience writing fluff. It's a skill I'd like to develop, but I'm always too scared to post my fluff stuff. Actually, I'm usually too scared to post my stuff period-I'm always afraid it's OOC, the prose is dry, etc. etc. etc... I just find such good stuff on here, and it intimidates me.
...I need to grow up, don't I?
Anyway, this could be any doctor and any female companion, I suppose, though I had Rose and an unusually quiet Ten in mind when I was writing this. I just never got around to inserting exact references to them while I was writing, and I sort of liked the semi-ambiguous nature of it.
Also, I need to explain the title. I got it from combining the words 'winter' and 'interlude', just because it sounded cooler than 'Together in Winter,' which was the original title.
